ASTM A516 is also known as ASME SA516. The A516 / SA516 standard specification for pressure vessel plates, carbon steel, for moderate- and lower-temperature service. A grade BP440 steel used for safety gate intended primarily for service in welded pressure vessels where improved notch toughness is required, and is normally found in moderate and lower temperature applications. All plates over 1-1/2″ Thick are required to be normalized. A516 Grade 70 steel is the most popular pressure vessel grade of steel plate in the industry.
Welded pipe, also known as welded steel pipe, refers to the steel pipe made of steel plate or strip steel after crimping and forming, with a fixed length of 6 meters. The production process of welded steel pipe is simple, the production efficiency is high, the varieties and specifications are diversified, and the equipment investment is less, but the general strength is lower than that of seamless steel pipe. BP440 steel used for safety gate, Welded pipes have many uses and are almost ubiquitous in our lives. However, when choosing welded pipes, we must pay attention to performance and material characteristics.
Tempering the important BP440 steel used for safety gate welding structure often use high temperature tempering to remove residual weld stress. Classification: high temperature tempering above 400 ℃, medium temperature tempering 250 ~ 400 ℃, low temperature tempering 150 ~ 250 ℃, Quenching +Tempering is improve BP440 steel used for safety gate strength, plasticity and toughness.
BP440 steel used for safety gate, 15CrMo alloy steel is Chinese material. It is characterized by high Chrome and Molybdenum contents. The 15CrMo alloy steel chrome content is 0.80-1.10, and molybdenum content is 0.40-0.55. Besides, 15CrMo carbon content is 0.12-0.18, silicon content is 0.17-0.37, manganese content is 0.40-0.70. The heating temperatures for quenching and tempering of 15CrMo alloy steel are 900 and 650 centigrade respectively. The yield point of 15CrMo alloy steel is 295Mpa.
