P460NH steel has good plasticity, toughness, cold bending performance and welding performance. P460NH steel plates are usually delivered in normalized condition. According to the negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, normalizing rolling can be used instead of normalizing. In this case, the sample shall be subject to simulated normalizing according to the agreed test frequency to verify that the performance meets the requirements.
Compared with BP370 steel for helmet, pressure vessel and boiler steel plates have such advantages: The pressure vessel and boiler steel should be pure, and the fracture structure of the boiler steel plate should be uniform without cracks and inclusions. Besides, the strain aging sensitivity is small, and the strain aging impact value of the pressure vessel and boiler steel plate is required to be no less than 50% of the non-aging impact value. That is why pressure vessel and boiler steel plate is first choice for fabricating pressure vessels and boilers, while BP370 steel for helmet is not.
